I named my model Camlock, which is the combination of “camera” and “clock“. For me, the camera itself has the role of recording time. Both photos and videos will become a memory in the future. The prototype of this camera is the camera I used in elementary school. It can be called the first camera in my life, although it is only a simple function of the digital camera. I thought I had lost it, but “thanks to” the epidemic, I had time to go back my old house and retrieve it from its long-sealed cabinet.
When I charged it up I was surprised to find that it not only turned on but also worked properly. The photos in the memory card are stopped in time when I was about 10 years old, in which I look very funny but very happy. Finding this memory was one of the most rewarding things I think I did during my time in quarantine.
I now restart to use this camera, because it is very small so I often take it with me and it has become a part of my life. While using it as my model this time, I changed its front camera to look like a clock (hour and second hands) to express the photographer (me) recording time through the camera.
What I found difficult in the 3D modeling process was that the camera had several overlapping lenses, which were easily confused. At first, I couldn’t get it to show in 3D, but then I found out that it was because I didn’t count the height of the camera itself (the lens is above the body).
